Yay, I got a tshirt :) This my friend Andres’ bilingual program for kids. I designed the logo little over a year ago. The program is doing so well, and Andres keeps bringing kids together to share language and music with his bilingual songs. Dang it! Just a few days ago I visited Amoeba Music and went home with some very lucky finds, like Berio’s Symphonia, Kronos Quartet Monk Suite: Kronos Quartet Plays Music of Thelonious Monk feat. Ron Carter, and a Ligeti compilation. They were so cheap that it was ridiculous! I would have loved to see what this store has to offer, too. Oh well…next time I guess. Right now, I am enjoying Kronos Quartet with Ron Carter. Hats off to Off Minor/Epistrophy (side 1, track 4).

I had to include the video of Stereo Hearts by Gym Class Heroes in my “Art+Music=Cool” list since they are using shadow art (and that’s part of what I do) it can only be consider “cool.”
I do regard the use of shadow play as traditional art - in fact, it’s almost as traditional as art can get.
I posted a little collage (well, it turned out to be not-so-little) I made using the shadow images I extracted from the video. You can see it here
SUBMISSION: Morton Bros Piano, dismantled by Tom Fotheringham
I am inspired! My next composition will be titled “Etude for a Neatly Organized Piano.” I bet, John Cage would be very jealous.
